GeneSight Pharmacogenomic Testing

GeneSight® testing analyzes your DNA to get a customized medication recommendations for your medication and treatment plan. With a simple cheek swab, we can understand how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.

In a clinical study of the GeneSight® psychotropic test, patients saw a 50% improvement in symptom relief when compared to patients who pursued a normal course of non-customized treatment.

Psychotropic

The psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. The psychotropic information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup. Testing results include dozens of neuropsychiatric drugs like Wellbutrin®, Xanax®, Prozac®, and Ambien®.

MTHFR

The MTHFR test measures your body’s quantity and use of folic acid. MTHFR is an enzyme required to convert folic acid into an active form called L-methylfolate that is usable by our bodies. L-methylfolate plays an important role in making neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which help regulate mood. Some people carry a mutation in the MTHFR gene, which limits their ability to create L-methylfolate.

ADHD

The ADHD test analyzes your body’s response to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medications, including both stimulants and nonstimulants. ADHD testing shows which drugs are more likely to trigger side effects and which are most likely to be effective based on your specific DNA.
