Sonya Ruedlinger, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Meet Sonya Ruedlinger — a triple-boarded psychiatric powerhouse, mental health innovator, and Frenchie-loving trailblazer.

As the heart and helm of Indy Behavioral Health, Sonya’s not just changing lives — she’s rewriting the script on treatment-resistant depression with a sharp eye for science and a soft spot for people. Whether she’s supervising Spravato treatments, crafting policy, mentoring clinicians, or speaking nationally on mood disorders, Sonya leads with equal parts compassion and clinical precision. Her patients know her as deeply thoughtful, her peers respect her hustle, and her dogs, Louis and Lucy, know who really runs the show. Sonya’s passion for mental health is also deeply personal. After losing her brother to suicide in 2003, she committed herself to a vision of a world where no one feels hopeless or alone — a world where mental health care is compassionate, accessible, and stigma-free. She aspires to help build a future where suicide is no longer a reality, and support is always within reach.

Sonya holds a certification in perinatal mental health, allowing her to provide specialized care for individuals navigating the emotional complexities of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. She also carries a deep respect for those who serve; with many of her family members having served in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, she brings a strong appreciation and sensitivity to the unique challenges faced by veterans and military families.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to clinical care and mental health advocacy, Sonya received the 2022 American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) State Award for Excellence. From startup strategy to soothing those navigating the storm, she’s all in. Always.
